Discerning Mormonism: On Authority

Let us sum up the radical differences between Mormonism and biblical Christianity,

1.  There are four standard works in Mormonism: the King James Version of the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price (Mormon Doctrine, 1977, ed., pp. 764-65), and also the president's view of things counts like a pope.

2.  The King James Version is the most accurate (Mormon Doctrine, 1977, ed., pp.422-423).

3.  The Bible is full of errors in Mormon theology and below the others standards of authority (Mormon Doctrine, 1977, ed., pp. 764, 383).

4.  People who say the Bible is the only infallible source are foolish (BOM, 2 Nephi 29:3, 6, 10).

5.  The standard of works are directly from God and restore many truths taken away from the Bible (Gospel Principles, 1992, p. 375).

6.  The Bible is only right in light of LDS teachings (Mormon Doctrine, 1977, ed., pp. 83).
